Joyce E. Lendzion, age 83, of Howell, formerly of Sterling Heights, died peacefully Sat. March 6, 2010.  She was born Sept. 20, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas to Elmer J. & Effie Marie (Bodine)Son.  She was a secretary at Ross Operating Valve in Troy.  Surviving are her son: Steven(Janice) and 7 Grandchildren. John A. Wheeler, age 81, died Wed. March 3, 2010. He was born Dec. 25, 1928 in Detroit.  He married Dorothy Wheeler, who died in 1989. John then married Rose Letwinski in Indiana in 1990.  He owned the Horseshoe Bar and the Wrangler and was a member of St.Agnes Catholic Church, VFW and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the US Army. John was a great father and liked to have fun. Karen L. Masten, age 57of Howell, died Wed. Feb. 24, 2010. She was born Jan. 2, 1953 in Detroit to Ernest & Vera (Deaven) Taylor and married Rick Masten in Northville in 1983. She was a rural mail carrier for the Fowlerville Post Office, retiring in Oct. 2009. She respected her job at the Post Office. Karen was a very loving person who put everyone else before herself. Walter E. Petsch, age 82, of Webberville, passed away Tues. Feb. 23, 2010. He was born March 16, 1927 in Yale, was a veteran of the US Army in WWII,Walter enjoyed playing cards at the Williamston Senior Center and  playing his harmonica and singing in the choir at Oak Grove Methodist Church.  He worked at Oldsmobile for 23 years, retiring in 1989.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Jean, daughter: Patricia (Phillip) Arbour of Perry, Siblings: Dorothy Holmes of Brighton, Lorraine (LeRoy) Saunders of Harrison, Grandchildren:Kenneth (Stacie) Ramay, Kimberly Ramay, Anthony,Mindy,Tonya and Ashley Arbour, 5 Great-Grandchildren: Kaelyn,Sydney,Kenadie,Aeries and Kaleb. Frederick J. Hackett, age 60, of Fowlerville, died Sun. Feb. 21, 2010.  He was born June 21, 1949 to Frederick Sober Hackett and Kathleen (Boomer) Hackett and married Marie Childs on June 28, 1975.Fred owned the Keg & Cork Party store in Fowlerville, was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. He coached 8th grade & Varsity basketball and loved bowling and golf.  He loved his granddaughters.  Surviving are his wife Marie, 3 children: Fred (Sara) of Okemos, Kyle (Mariah) of Linden and Carrie (Josh) Moulton of Fowlerville, 2 granddaughters: Eliana & Mckenna, parents: Frederick S. & Kathleen of Livonia, sister Kathleen Vaughn of Highland, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.  Services 11AM Wed. Margaret H. K. Risdon, age 82, of Fowlerville, died Sun. Feb. 14, 2010.   She was born Aug. 26, 1927 on the family farm in Conway Twp. to Ernest H. & Bernice M. (Finlan) Bessert.  She was a 1946 graduate of Fowlerville High School and married Arlin R. Risdon, who preceded her  death in 1996. Margaret was the Food Service Manager for Fowlerville Schools for many years. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.  Margaret loved her grandchildren & greatgrandchildren. Surviving are 3 children: Jane Risdon-Zeeman of Fowlerville, Keith (Karen) Risdon of Howell and Brian (Sandy) Risdon of Monroe, NC, 8 grandchildren,14 Greatgrandchildren, 3 brothers: Max Bessert,  Harold Bessert and Rev. Michael K. Ammon, age 53, of Webberville, died Sat. Maria Turska, age 95, of Ann Arbor, died Wed. William E. Rambo, age 77, of Fowlerville, died Mon. Feb. 8, 2010.  He was born July 7, 1932 in Lansing to Harold & Eva (Robinson) Rambo and married Martha Marilyn Miller in Hastings in 1952  Mr. Rambo was a custodian and crossing guard at Fowlerville Schools.   Surviving are his wife Martha, 2 sons: Billy of Cheboygan and Jim (Lisa) of Powell,Ohio 5 grandchildren: Pat, Mike, Josh, Taylor Noelle and Matt, 12 grandchildren, 2 brothers: Thomas  and John, 3 sisters in law:Connie Garner-Dunn, Bonnie Rambo and Carol Rambo.   He was preceded in death by his son: Mike and brother: Ben.. Cecil D. Sanders Jr., age 67, of Williamston, died Tues. Feb. 2, 2010.  He was born March 13, 1942 in Howell to Cecil D. & Jessie (Challis) Sanders and married Nancy (Rich) in Howell on April 28, 1962.   He was a member of Fowlerville First United Methodist Church and the Howell Methodist Church.  Surviving are his wife Nancy, 2 children: Christine  K. (Bret) Beaudry of Harrison Twp. Mildred L. Couturier, age 70, of Williamston, died Mon. Feb. 1, 2010 at home.  She was born Dec. 5, 1939 in Redford to Leo & Mildred (Gehl) Brennan and married Richard Couturier in Dearborn Heights on May 9, 1959.  She was a Master Gardner and a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Williamston.  Surviving are her husband: Richard, children: Kimberlee Couturier of Williamston, Rick (Elizabeth) of Holt and Rob (Suzanne) of Williamston, 11 Grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren, 4 sisters: Beverly (Joe)Buchalatto, Gayle (John) Dutchak, Pamela (Bill)Greishaus and Colleen (Tom) Griffiths.  She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Bob Brennan and Tommy Brennan.   Services 11:30AM Wed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John P. Douglass, age 63, of Fowlerville, died Sunday Jan. 31, 2010.  He was born  March 12, 1946 in Howell to Stirling and Dorothy (Eckhart) Douglass. He was a 1964 graduate of Fowlerville High School and was an electrician by trade for 46 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers, the last 25 years with General Motors until his retirement in July 2009.  He loved sports, and was an avid fan of the Fowlerville Gladiators and Michigan State University.  He was a member of the Boy Scouts during his youth. He loved to spend time with his children & Grandchildren. He married Debra Hughes in 1977.  Surviving are his wife Debra, 6 children: Teresa (Mike) Katlin of Howell, John II (Kelli) of Fowlerville, Nick (Wendy) of Fowlerville, Kyle (Jason) of Grand Rapids, Zack (Kris-Tina) of Fowlerville and Tyler of Fowlerville, 8 grandchildren: Michael Katlin, Amanda Katlin, Meghan Douglass, Elijah Douglass, Parker Douglass, Kennedy Douglass, Kaley Douglass and Kellen Douglass, Mother: Dorothy, sister: Jaquelyn MacKay of Ontario, brother: Jerry (Jackie) of Howell, Aunts: Bobbie Eisele and Helen (Dick) Reyhl, many cousins and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father: Stirling and daughter: Melissa. George W. Whitehead, age 87, of Webberville, died Thurs Jan. 28, 2010 at Eaton Hospice in Charlotte.  He was born July 14, 1922 in Webberville to Grover & Ione (Weaver) Whitehead. He married Ila Mallett in Perry on Sept. 10, 1944, she preceded him in death in 1978.  George was a custodian for Webberville Public Schools.  Surviving are 2 children: Grover (Wilma) of Webberville and Linda (Anthony) Verducci of Georgia, 4 grandchildren: Ryan, Jared & Gina Whitehead and Kamra (Michael) Jackson, 2 Step-granddaughters: Lisa (Scott) Bernard & Darcel (Robert) Schouler and 5 greatgrandchildren,   He was preceded in death by his wife Ila and 2 brothers: Dorr Van Sickler and Sylas Van Sickler.  Services 11AM Mon. at Niblack Funeral Home, Dillingham Liverance Chapel with Pastor Paul Damkoehler of Webberville United Methodist Church officiating. Ruth E. White, age 96, of Howell died Fri, Jan. 22, 2010.  She was born April 16, 1913 on the family farm in Fowlerville to August & Mary (Hart) Ruttman.  She was a 1930 graduate of Fowlerville High School and married Ernest Leslie White,on Dec. 14, 1935, he preceded her in death in 1959. Ruth was an accountant for the State of Michigan at Hillcrest and loved the cabin at Higgins Lake that she & Leslie built. She was active in St. Johns Episcopal Church, where she served on the ECW, Altar Society and Vestry, was a member of Fowlerville O.E.S.#277. Her family was very important to her.   Surviving are daughter Marilyn Wilkinson of Fowlerville. 4 Grandchildren: Heather (Gordon) Yue, Les Wilkinson, Steve (Judy) Wilkinson and Andrew (Maylene) Wilkinson, 5 greatgrandchildren and brother: Robert(Lydia) Ruttman and many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother: Julia, Sister: Celia Lounsbury, brother: Frank Ruttman, son-in-law: James Wilkinson and greatgrandson: Maison Wilkinson. Hollie Junior Meadows, 83, of San Bernardino, California and formerly of Fowlerville, Michigan, passed away on December 28, 2009 following an extended illness from the effects of a stroke. He had been a residence of the Valley Healthcare Center where he had been well cared for and loved by his nurses and his roommate. Donald, for the past several years.
He was born on September 29, 1926 in Princeton, West Virginia to Leota and Hollie Meadows, you will be missed by all.
Hollie worked years for several manufacturing companies in Michigan before moving with his wife to California in the 80’s. He was a big part in daughter Pam's and son-in-law Mario's business and in their children's lives.
In addition to his parents, his wife of 58 years, Myrtle Lowe Meadows; his daughter, Patricia Meadows; his brothers Bill and James Meadows, and his sister Lavella Pettrey preceded Hollie in death. Hollie is survived by his daughters; Linda Gifford of Flint, MI; Connie Warne of Atlanta, GA; Pamela Gomez of Grand Terrace, CA; Jackie Green of Redlands, CA; his sons; Jay Meadows of Reno, NV; Gary Meadows of Houston, TX and Darryl Meadows of Ranger, GA with all of their spouses and his 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; Survivors also include 4 of his 8 siblings and all their progeny living in the Princeton, WVA vicinity; his sisters and half-sisters, Elsie Brookman, Francis Bowling and Evelena White; and his half-brother Benny Ferguson.
It was his request to be cremated. Memorial service is planned for January 30, 2010 Saturday at 1 PM

Sr. After living his teenage and young adult life in Princeton and following a stint in the Navy, Hollie and his wife, Myrtle, moved their family in the 50’s to Michigan; first to Fenton and then to Fowlerville, where they lived for over 25 years. Hollie used his vast carpentry skills to continue remodeling and expanding the family home to accommodate his eight children and their growing families. Daniel Thomas Casady, age 60, formerly of Howell, passed away peacefully on Sun Jan. 17, 2010.  He was born Dec. 11, 1949 in Lansing and resided in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Susan J. (Miller) Hargrove, age 62, of Haslett, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010.  She was born Aug. 29, 1947 to Halsey & Mary Lou (Worsfold) Miller.  She was a 1965 graduate of Fowlerville High School and 1969 graduate of U of M. Dec. 31, 2009.  He was born March 25, 1936 to Herman & Jenny Rife.  He married Patricia McKnight at St. Agnes Catholic Church, she survives. Ron owned RTB builders, was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the NRA. LaRainne F. Jones, age 91, of Fowlerville, died Mon. Dec. 28,2009 in Lansing. She was born Oct. 6, 1918 in Waverly,Iowa to Arthur & Barbara (Tiggeman) Stewart and married Sam D. Jones in Duluth on Sept. 5, 1942, he preceded her in death in 1968. She owned LaRainne’s Studio of Dance in Fowlerville for 25 years, taught at U of M and was a member of  National & local dance councils. Surviving are 2 daughters: Sandra Boyd of Okemos and Sheri (Duane) Starkey of Fowlerville, 5 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, and 6 greatgreatgrandchildren, sister Darlene Page of Iowa. Steven W. Lako, age 44, of Fowlerville, died at home Wed., Dec. 23, 2009.  He was born April 17, 1965 in Howell. His parents are Michael & Donna (Wolverton) Lako . He married Mindi J. Hodgins at Trinity United Methodist Church on June 21, 1986. He loved to farm, enjoyed tractor pulling and NASCAR and he loved working with his hands. Ethel Maurice “Marie” DePue, age 75, of Webberville, died Friday Dec. 18, 2009.  She was born Aug. 18, 1934 in Phenix City, Ala. To Benjamin F. & Nora (Cone) Moore. Martin V. Brock, age 74, of Fowlerville, died Wed. Robert A. “Bob” Branch, age 86, of Webberville, went home to his wife “Ruthie” for Christmas on Tues. Dec. 12, 2009 in Avon Lake, Ohio.  He was born July 8, 1923 in Brighton.   Bob was a 1941 graduate of Webberville High School and served in the US Army in WWII.  He owned the Bell Oak Store, Williamston Convienence Store, Branch’s Food Store in Fowlerville, Grand Motel in Fowlerville and Wishing Well Motel in St. Ignace.  Bob was a member of Webberville Masonic Lodge #485 and the Orson A. Rose American Legion Post. He was married for 59 years to Ruth E. Sober, she preceded him in death in 2006. Ralph  R.  Becker  age 91 of Fowlerville, died on Wed. Nov. 25, 2009 in Howell. He was born on Dec. 3, 1917 at home in Cohoctah Twp. to Roy & Lessie (Dormer) Becker and was a 1936 graduate of Fowlerville High School. He married Isabel I. Risch in 1940, she preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 2007.  Mr. Becker was a dairy farmer and loved to tell jokes and stories.

John N. Lassila, 63, of Fowlerville, MI died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Lansing Sparrow Hospital after a long battle with leukemia and kidney disease.  He was born on September 10, 1946 in Ontonagon, MI, son of William and Anna (Anttila) Juno.  He attended Ontonagon, Mohawk, and Calumet Schools.  He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1969.  He was united in marriage to Ruth Nevala on September 3, 1977.  John worked for Ford Motor Co, Morrison Knudsen, and Asea Brown Bovari.  John enjoyed traveling with his family to horse competitions and boating, fishing, hockey, and auto racing
Preceding him in death were his parents, stepfather Paul, twin brother Bill, stepbrothers Roy, Kenneth, and Gordon.  He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and daughter, Chantal, of Fowlerville, a stepsister, Fay (Richard) Anderson of Port Townsend, WA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Mr. Lassila will be at the Niblack Funeral Home in Fowlerville on Tuesday, October 20th, 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the same location on Wednesday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon being served at St. Agnes Church, located next to the funeral home.  Interment will be at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet, MI.

He was a Charter Member  of 2 Ham Radio Clubs,Member of the Emergency Management team of Iosoco County for several years thru the 90’s,Member and sat on the Board of Directors at Iosco County Sportsmen’s Club, life member of NRA and an accomplished Drummer. Miles W. Allen, age 85, of Fowlerville, formerly of Redford, died Sun. Sept. 12, 2009.  He was born May 14, 1924 to Charles & Marie (Birch) Allen and married Lenora Hicks on Nov. 2, 1942.Miles was a typographer for Goodwill Printing for 61 years and was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII. He attended Fowlerville United Brethren in Christ Church. Norma Jeanne McNalley, “Jeanne” age 64, of Harrison, formerly of DeWitt, died Mon. Aug. 3, 2009.  She was born April 9, 1945 in Saginaw to Norbert & Julia (Wazny) Beeckman. She married John McNalley in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1988. She co-owned the Amoco/Dawn donuts in DeWitt. Norma loved to cross stitch, like watching game shows and enjoyed her flowers and house plants. Theodore F. “Ted” Helzerman, age 94, died at home Fri. July 31, 2009. He was born Aug. 1, 1914 in Oakville, MI to Charles & Martha (Nagle) Helzerman and married Ruth E. Lucks, in Detroit on Feb. 7, 1941, she preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 1996. Donald T. Andrizzi, age 75, of Howell, died  Sun. July 5, 2009 . He was born April 2, 1934 in Detroit to Frank & Helen (Adams) Andrizzi. He married Donna Muxworthy in Detroit on Sept. 8, 1956. Don was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea and retired from the Detroit Police Department as a Sargent in 1987 and then worked as a Security Officer at Botsford Hospital. Jonathan Johnson age 62 of Fowlerville, died  June 23, 2009. He was born on May 19, 1947 to Andrew Johnson and Christina Lebowski in Northville, Mi. He married Victoria (Toms) Dec. 29, 1980 in Fowlerville. He was a member of UAW Local 564 and member of Wayside Tabernacle Church.  He worked for GM, Lake Orion retiring in 2004 after 37 years. He loved to garden and was a handyman. Loved the outdoors and all around sportsman.

Elmer Hornyak, age 93, of Fowlerville, died Tues. May 26, 2009.  He was born Jan. 7, 1916 in Detroit to Michael & Helen V. (Takacs) Hornyak. He was a Navy veteran in WWII and worked for GM Diesel for 31 years and was a Union Steward and Vice President of UAW Local 163, where he was known as “Brother Elmer”. He married Sue  in Los Vegas on April 25, 1992. He worked as a project manager for Superb Homes Inc. He coached basket and baseball for the Fowlerville Community , was involved in many community service projects, loved fishing, golf and boating. Beatrice Irene Dutton age 92 of Byron, formerly of Cheboygan Michigan, went to be with her Lord on Thursday May 21. She was born on May 26, 1917 to Elmer  and Sophia (Trudeau) Wing. She married Charles Elmer Dutton in Redford , Michigan on Nov. 20, 1935. He preceded her in death, 1985. Bernard L. Nygren “Barney”, age 86, of Fowlerville, died May 15, 2009.  He was born April 2, 1923 to Louis & Hazel (Ferrington) Nygren. He married Pearly Cunningham on Dec 31, 1942, she preceded him in death in 1977.  He was a carpenter for Nygren Brothers Construction Co. and a veteran of the US Navy, serving in WWII. Dawn M. Wheeler, age 59 of Fowlerville,     died Monday May 10, 2009.  She was born  March 8, 1950 in Taylor to Charles & Hazel (LaPointe) Ball and married Ron Wheeler, who preceded her in death. She was part owner of Whitey’s Auto Salvage in Howell and had been active in Girl Scouts.  Dawn loved spending time with her Grandchildren. Janet Ann Iseler age 63, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 24, 2009.  She was born on June 3, 1945 to August and Edna (Walkenhorst) Hartman in St. Louis, Missouri.  Preceded in death by her father, Janet leaves behind her beloved son, Marc (Rachel) Iseler of Fowlerville, and cherished daughter Wendy (Timothy) Miga of Bruce Township.  She is also survived by her loving mother Edna Hartman of Wood River, Illinois; brothers:  Donald (Sandy) Hartman of Dayton, Ohio, Dennis (Bonnie) Hartman of Godfrey, Illinois, Kenneth (Sally) Hartman of Jefferson City, Missouri;  many nieces and nephews;  as well as former husband and dear friend Charles Iseler of Fowlerville.
Janet was a graduate of Concordia College - River Forest and worked as a Lutheran grade school teacher until her retirement in 2004.  A life-long member of the Lutheran Church she belonged to the Ladies-Aide Societies and was active in many school committees.  Janet enjoyed reading, cross-word puzzles and playing long games of Scrabble with friends and family.  A quiet and gentle soul, Janet will be deeply missed by her family and friends; and remembered always for her faith, personal strength, and loving nature.

Mary Carr Cook, age 94, of Fowlerville, died Tues. April 21, 2009 at home. She was born Feb. 26, 1915 to Robin & Goldie (Baker) Carr at the family farmhouse on Gregory Rd. Kay S. Kaiser, 65, of Howell, died at home March 18, 2009. She was born Dec. 3, 1943 in Temple, Texas to Cyril & Geraldine (Mellus) Collins. Kay was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was active in the Charismatic revewel group and was a spiritual director. Alice C. Dillingham, age 92 of Naples, Florida also of Lansing and Oscoda, passed away on March 17, 2009. She was born on July 2, 1916 to George  and Sylvia (Tucker) Keeble in Detroit, Michigan.  She married Donald M. Dillingham on September 1, 1939 in Fowlerville, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2002. She was a self employed realtor in the area, also a member of the Methodist Church. Randall “Justin”  Farris, age 25,of Webberville, passed away on March  11, 2009. He was born April 7, 1983 in Lansing to Randy & Tammy (Eberly) Farris. He was an avid sports fan of all the Detroit teams, but what he loved the most was watching his brother Jordan play sports. Mary Patricia (Pat) Preetz, age 69 of Gregory, died Sunday February 22, 2009. She was born  March 24, 1939 . Pat was a retired cook in the Gregory area and over the years has made many wonderful friends. Surviving is her partner James Richmond of 16 Years. Brother: William Bannerman.   Calvin Labuschewskyage (Bucky LaBush), 60, a lifelong resident of  Howell and Fowlerville, had been battling pancreatic cancer  died Sun. Feb. 15, 2009 at home.  He was born March 10, 1948 in Howell and graduated in 1966 from Howell High School.  He is  Survived  by his wife: Sylvia, Twin Sons: Ronald (Randi) of North Carolina & Donald (Karen) of Fowlerville, Daughter: Lindsay (Jacob) Crabtree of Okemos, and 5 Grandsons. Three Step-children: Tricia (Aaron Belanger) Opper, Tabitha (David) Killebrew and James Opper and 8 step-grandchildren. Also his father: Donald of Howell and 2 sisters: Sue (Rich) Albright and Judy (Dave)  Henderson both of Florida. He was preceded in death by his Mother: Winifred and Grandmother: Fern Schultz. Calvin worked in sales at Universal Electric in Howell for the past 20 years but has been in the electric motor business since his graduation from High School. Cal was a huge NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon, a great bowler, loved to watch westerns, fishing, and driving his dune buggy.  He will be greatly missed by all his family, neighbors ,many friends and co-workers. Abiding by his wishes , Pastor Steve Malson will be officiating a small service  and his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Rich Albright will be hosting a memorial  in his honor at the 700 Bowl Bowling Center in South Lyon on Sunday , February 22 at 2 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joe’s Mercy Hospice or the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund . Cremation has taken place.

Gary F. Benson, 58, of Fowlerville, died Tues. Feb. 10, 2009 at home. He was born May 27, 1950 in Howell to Ralph & Marjorie (Vyes) Benson. He was a 1969 graduate of Howell High School, a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Howell and had worked at Kelsey-Hayes and was a great U of M fan.   He married Marie D. Carrie M. Kunde, 23, of Fowlerville, died Thurs. Jan. 29, 2009 at U of M Hospital.  She was born Oct. 10, 1985 in Lansing to Paul Kunde & Elizabeth (Schwedt) Kunde.  She was a 2004 graduate of Fowlerville High School and was about to graduate from MSU with a degree in accounting. Carrie carried a 4.0 GPA and will be remembered for her determination to overcome any obstacle she faced. O’Hara, 71 of Livonia, died Feb. 2, 2009 in Howell.  She was born June 7, 1937 in Clarksburg, W.Va. to Lorenzo & Mabel (Sommerville) Nutter.  She was a secretary for Chrysler, a member of Temple Baptist Church and loved to travel.  She was a good Mom & Grandmother. Walter E.Wallace, 94, of Big Rapids, died Sun. Sharon Harriette Geer West Jackson, 66, of Fowlerville, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Fri. Jan. 30, 2009.  She was born Oct 9, 1942 to Clifford F. & Jean E. (Sherwood) Geer. She was a 1961 graduate of Fowlerville High School.  She married Roger Jackson in Oct. 1972. Sharon had worked at the Fowlerville D & C store and Arbor Drugs.  She  was a member of Hidden Springs Christian Retreat Center and had taught Sunday School for over 30 years and sang in the Choir at Hidden Springs. Anthony J. "Tony" Carusi, 91, of Fowlerville, died Thurs. Rosa M. Oliver, 89, of Fowlerville, died Tues. Jan. 6, 2009 in Lansing.  She was born Oct. 31, 1919 to George & Anna (Wendel) Sweeten and was married to Ivan E. Oliver in 1936, he preceded her in death in 1970. Rosa was a bus driver for Fowlerville Public Schools for 34 years, retiring in 1995, she then was an active volunteer at Kreeger Elementary School and was active in all the admissions events for athletics. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Webberville and  was formerly active with Antrim Baptist Church Surviving are her 4 children: Larry (Gloria) of California, Tom (Carol) of Webberville, Bob (Janice) of Byron and Janet (Dave) Short of Boston, 14 Grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren. Steven E. Bowen, 54, of Fowlerville, died  Mon. Jan.2,2009 peacefully at home, surrounded by his children. He was born Jan. 5, 1954 in Howell to Carl & Frances (Reynolds) Bowen.  He married Nancy Green, who preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 2008. Steve retired from the Wixom Ford plant and was a member of Williamston Baptist Church. Surviving are 3 children: Steven C. Karrie A. Tangney, 40, of Fowlerville, died Mon. Dec. 29,2008. She was born Nov. 14, 1968 in Allen Park to Edward & Gerri (Grodzicki) Smith. She married Steven Tangney at St. Augustine Catholic Church.  She loved her family and animals and enjoyed reading and collecting collectables.

Iris E. Gamber, 83, of Fowlerville, died Sat. Dec. 27, 2008. She was born Nov. 11, 1925 in Ransom, Mich. to Erwin D. & Elsie R. (Fryman) Dennis.  She married Richard Gamber Dec. 17, 1946 in Hillsdale. Iris was assistant transportation supervisor for Fowlerville Public Schools for 24 years and was a member of Fowlerville First United Methodist Church, the Garden Club and had been active in Girl Scouts. Obituary: Gerald E. Calhoun, 87,  died Fri. Dec. 26, 2008 near his son’s home in Grosse Ile, Mich. Jerry was a long time resident of both Fowlerville and Grosse Ile,  and since 1998 enjoyed retirement in Ellenton, Fla.  He was born in Jackson on June 24, 1921.  He graduated from Michigan State College with a Chemical Engineering degree and subsequently became licensed as a Professional Engineer.  Mr. Calhoun served in the Europe during World War II as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Combat Corp. of Engineers. After the war he worked at the family farm for a number of years before becoming employed as District Staff Engineer for Michigan Water Resources in  South Eastern Michigan for 11 years. He then accepted a position as Staff Engineer Environmental for General Motors Chevrolet Division where he concluded his career after 21 years.  He served in a number of community positions including Chairman of the Handy Township Zoning Board and held numerous positions in the Fowlerville First United Methodist Church.  He also served a President of the Water Pollution Control Association and served on many other professional committees. He is a lifetime Master Mason with Fowlerville Lodge #164 F & AM. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Ada Marie (Lucas) Calhoun who died on June 10, 1998 and son, Rodney who died June 30, 1986 at age 42. Survivors include his son Kim (Jill) of Grosse Ile., 6 grandchildren: Anastasia,Tracy, Darrin, Jennifer, Jason and Jannett and three Great-Grandchildren. Barbara Jean Robb, 82, of Fowlerville,died Sat. Dec. 20, 2008. She was born Dec. 2, 1926 in Flint to Zurry & Nellie (Lambert) Belles and was a 1944 graduate of Howell High School. She married George M. Robb in Howell on Feb. 8, 1947.  He preceded her in death on May 13, 2005.  Mrs. Robb was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church,  Farm Bureau, the Philomathean Club and was a 4-H Leader for many years.  In their later years, she and George spent many winters in Lakeland, Florida.  In addition to raising 8 Children, Jean was a bookkeeper, secretary, breadmaker and peace maker at the Robb farm. Surviving are 2 brothers: DeWayne Belles of Traverse City and James Belles of Williamston, 3 first cousins and 8 children: Susan (Julio) Celadilla of Haines City, Fla. (Leandro & Lilian); Sally (William) Mooney of Davenport, Fla. Keith  John Anderson “Tarfoot”, , 62, of Fowlerville, died Tues. Dec. 16, 2008 at U of M Hospital.  He was born Dec. 22, 1945.Survived by daughter Rebecca of Fowlerville, Brother Nelson Cypher of Fowlerville, Father John Cypher of Webberville, former wife: Pam House-Anderson of Pinckney and numerous cousins throughout Michigan , Nebraska and Nevada. Preceded in death by mother Stella (Paige) Cypher. Keith was born in Detroit, Michigan moving to Fowlerville in 1959 when the family purchased a small farm on Gregory Road. This remained his home for the  balance of his life. Keith attended  Fowlerville Schools, graduating in 1963 and then had a long and varied career. This included General Motors, self-employment as a semi owner-operator and most recently as Handy Township Zoning Administrator. He owned Landshaper Inc. and loved fishing, working with flowers and carpentry, he was also a great cook and enjoyed making any kind of cake. Martin L. Wise Sr., age 93 of Fowlerville.Passed away on December 11 ,2008 in Fowleville, Michigan. He was born October 11, 1915 to Vincent And Antoinette (Wasik) Wise. He married Inez M. (Bohm) on December 2, 1936, they were married 71 years when she preceded him in death on February 19, 2008. He worked for many years as a dairy farmer, he loved to farm and enjoyed all the animals. He was member of St. Agnes Catholic Church were he was head usher for many years.
Surviving are 3 sons: Arnold (Louise) of Fowlerville, Martin "Lenny"(Bonnie) Jr. of Fowlerville,Larry (Norene) of Fowlerville. 2 Daughters: Deanna (Kyle) Cruse of Higgings Lake, Marsha (Alan) Walsh of Fowlerville. 13 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

LaVern  F.  Schafer , age 83 of St. Helen died on Thursday December 11, 2008 in Howell,  He was born July 20, 1925 in Grand Rapids and married Norma Jean Hemsil on 1946 in Ferndale.She preceded him in death December 8, 2007. He was a WWII veteran , serving in the US Army. Surviving are 4 children: Vern (Toni) of Brighton, Gordon (Billie Jo) of Ann Arbor, Sandra (Sam) Weber of Novi,  Heidi (Ron) Wilkie of Fowlerville. 10 Grand children and 12 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma and Son Jay. A Memorial Service will be held Sat. Dec. 13 at 3PM at Niblack Funeral Home, Dillingham Liverance Chapel, Fowlerville. John F. Eldridge, 87, of Fowlerville, died Fri. Dec. 12, 2008.  He was born March 9,1921 in Bear Lake, MI to Fred & Grace Eldridge. He married Dora I. Merrill in 1939 and she preceded him in death in 1998. Gladys Marie Harmon,96, of Fowlerville, died December 6,2008 at Independence Village in Brighton.  She was born August 15, 1912 to Merrill and Edith Gallup at their farm home near Pinckney, Michigan. She was their 7th child. The family had 12 children 6 boys: Walter, Earl, Robert, Harold and Arthur.6 Girls: Florence Swarthout, Myrtle Blaham, Hazel Rogers, Lois Brewbaker, Edith Irene Gallup and Betty Esch. Surviving are 2 children: Joyce (Stan) Lockwood and Thomas (Sandra) Harmon, 7 Grandchildren, 12 Greatgrandchildren and 11 Greatgreatgrandchildren, sister: Lois Brewbaker. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gordon, Grandson: Steve Lockwood, daughter-in-law: Jane Harmon and 10 brothers & sisters.  Gladys had many talents, she was an avid reader and writer and a great pie maker. She married J. Gordon Harmon on September 29, 1929. They lived in Howell, Michigan for 5 years before they moved to Fowlerville where Gordon and a partner purchased the Fowlerville Review. Gordon sold his interest in 1935 to enter the Real Estate Business with Gladys, which they operated  for 32 years at Fowlerville main four cornors, selling many farms and homes in the area. On retirement they spent 20 winters in Arizona where Gladys enjoyed college classes and many activities and golfing with Gordon. Their Sun City home had many Fowlerville guests and family visitors.
She was a member of the O.E.S., Fowlerville 1st United Methodist Church and Philomathean Club.
Services 11AM Thurs. Dec. 11,2008 at Fowlerville 1st United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Tarpley officating. The Family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wed. at the Niblack Funeral Home, Dillingham Liverance Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery joining her husband J. Gordon Harmon. Elwood Lyle Miller age 87, of Fowlerville, died Nov. 29, 2008. He was born August 30, 1921 in Yorba Linda, California to  Don & Grace (Winchel)  Miller.   He married June Luttermoser on July 18, 1947.She preceded him in death in  2004. Survived by Children: Jack of Fowlerville, Stephen (Jenna) of Browerville, Minnesotta, Pam (Steve) Munsell of Fowlerville, James of Howell, Grace of Grand Rapids,8 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild, sister: Eileene of Clarksburg, California. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Horace & Jack.
Lyle served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment in the South Pacific in World War II. Wounded in the re-taking of Corregidor, he recuperated at Dibble Hospital in Menlo Park, California, where he met June. He retired from General Motors at the Proving Grounds in Milford Michigan. Frances Lorraine Poch, age 86 of Howell, passed away on Wed. Dec. 3, 2008. She was born November 11, 1922 in Racine, Wisc. to William & Marie (Felber) Kozin. She married Orval Poch on Oct. 26, 1946 in Detroit. She enjoyed gardening, reading and taking trips to Northern Michigan on the weekends.

Alma Davis, 82, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Howell, died Sat. Nov.22, 2008. She was born Jan. 11, 1926 in Louisville, Ky. Walter L. Maleizke, age 91 of Fowlerville, passed away at the Allegiance Hospice in Jackson, Mi on November 11, 2008.
He was born August 25, 1917 in Conway Township, the son of Lewis and Merle (Coffey) Maleizke, widower of the late Esther (Herbert) Maleizke (2006) whom he married in 1939.
Father of Phyllis (deceased), Sherry (Mike) Higgins of Portage, Stanley (Josephine) of Raleigh NC, Judy (Bill) Devine of Concord, Gordon (Sue) and Connie (Robert) Coon both of Fowlerville, Also survived by many Grandchildren , Great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren.
Walter was a retired farmer and had been active and held offices in the Fowlerville Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau, Livingston County Soil Conservation and Cohoctah Township.  One of the highlights of his life was a goodwill trip that he and Esther took to many foreign countries through Michigan State University.
Funeral Services were held Saturday November 15, 2008 at the Lutheran Church in Fowlerville.

Frank Pietrowski,   age 78   of Fowlerville, passed away on November 10, 2008. He was born Feb. 21, 1930 in Detroit and married Ivka Valentic in 1969 in Croatia. Dorotha B. Monroe, 89, of Fowlerville, died Tuesday November 4, 2008. She was born June 30, 1919 in Conway Township to Orla B. & Minnie A. (Van Camp) Hall and was a 1937 graduate of Fowlerville High School. She married George Monroe on April 10, 19141. Dortha was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star #277 and the American Legion Auxiliary #215, She was an avid supporter of Fowlerville and enjoyed bingo, the casino and crafts. Dortha worked at many local businesses, including her family's H.M. & G. Grain and Feed, Lintemuths, Oral Mack, Mason State Band and Michigan State University. Lt. Col Michael T. Wagar, 57 of Canton,  died Sept. 24, 2008. He was born Dec. 13, 1951 in Detroit to Bernard T. & Doris (Smith) Wagar.  He retired from the Detroit Police Dept. after 25 years of service and served as a Lt. Col. In the U.S. Air Force, Dept. Charles Henry Reason Jr. 79, of Fowlerville, died Sat. Sept. 13, 2008.  He was born June 21, 1929 in Pinckney to Charles Henry Sr & Ila May (Wilcox) Reason. He married Joyce Kathryn (Beardslee) on March 15, 1952. He was a long time resident of Fowlerville and worked as a builder for his own company in Fowlerville.  He loved  woodworking, hunting and gardening.  He is survived by his wife Joyce , Brother Henry Jay Reason and many nieces and nephews. Donald Allen Cleary,70, of Perry, formerly of Fowlerville, died Thurs. Sept. 11,2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born Jan. 17, 1938 at the family farm in Gladwin to Robert Charles & Dorothy Mary (Raymond) Cleary. He married Mary Ann Maciejewski, she survives him.  Don worked for Canteen Vending for over 30 years and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Fowlerville, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morrice and All Saints Catholic Church in Flint and the Knights of Columbus.  He was a  veteran of the US Air Force, serving from1957 to 1960.  Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Cleary of Howell, 2 sons: Steven (Rachel) of Stockbridge and Jeffrey (Marsha) of Morristown, Tenn., He was Grandfather “Papa Don” to Michael & Charlie Cleary of Tenn and Devin & Maddie Cleary of Michigan; and his loving brother: John “Jack” Cleary of  Beaverton brother-in-law & sister-in-law: Robert & Alice Maciejewski of Mt. Daisy Bean, 84, of Fowlerville, died Mon. Aug. 11, 2008 in Lansing. She was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Graysville, Tenn to Walter & Ellen (Doss) Morgan.  She lived and worked in Battle Creek and Coldwater.  She married George Bean on July 17, 1953.  Daisy resided in Fowlerville for 4 years and enjoyed working in her flowers, playing cards, doing puzzles and visiting with her family and  friends.  Surviving are 3 daughters: Linda Murphy of Sherwood, Pamela (Chet) Merwin of Paw Paw and Susan (Joe) Rogers of Fowlerville, 6 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband: George, 3 sisters, 5 brothers and 1 greatgrandson.  Memorial services will be held

Eloise E. Knight, 70, of Fowlerville, diedJuly 28, 2008.  She was born July 20, 1938 in Tracy, Minn. To Roy & Beulah (Bangasser) Gleason.  She married Thomas Knight June 7, 1958 in Currie, Minn.  Eloise retired as a bookkeeper for Auto Owners Insurance, was a devoted member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fowlerville where she served on the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic Minister and the Facilities Committee. She was a very active member of the Livingston County American Red Cross where she served as a Disaster Services Volunteer.  Surviving are her husband: Tom, 2 children: Julie (Michael) Tobin & Charles (Bonnie) Knight, both of Stockbridge, 4 grandchildren: Elena, Victoria and Connor Tobin and Adam Knight, 2 sisters: Lee Ann Lofgren of Camden and Valorie Gleason of Milan.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Lowell Gleason.  Memorial services will be held August 7, 2008 at 11 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Fr. Fancis George officiating. Lillian L. Arnold, 72, of Haslett,   formerly of Fowlerville,died Wed. July 30, 2008.  She was born Sept. 17, 1935 to Gustav & Ottilla (Krieger) Look.  She married Douglas Arnold Sr. on June 30, 1956 in Angola. She worked for the Fowlerville Review, Fisher Abrasive in Howell, Cars & Concepts in Brighton and retired from ASC in Lansing where she was known as “Mother Arnold”.  Lillian was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Williamston.  She liked going to the casino, fishing, gardening & spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband: Douglas, 3 children: Debby (Bruce) Holbrook of Bell Oak, Kelly (Mike) Clark of Dimondale, Douglas Jr. (Julie) of Webberville, 6 grandchildren: Brooke, Jereme, Alyssa,  Jarad, Mary & Nicole and  many neices & nephews.  She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Gus Look & Ed Look, 5 sisters: Pauline Marquardt, Lydia Milford, Martha Panko  Helen Tobia & Joyce Baldwin. Ruth H. Winn, 93, of Fowlerville died Friday, July 25, 2008.  She was born Feb. 1, 1915 in Detroit to William & Selma (Busch) Voss.  She was employed at Wrigleys and Great Scott grocery stores, retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and loved to travel.  Dear mother of Marion Darlene (William) Seaton of Fowlerville and Wayne L. (Sandie) Winn of Livonia, many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren and sister-in-law: Gertie Voss.  She was preceded in death by her daughter: Ruth A. Umfleet and 2 sons: William T. Laing and Robert J. Dorothy L. Shelton, 96, of Fowlerville, died Saturday July 19, 2008.  She was born July 29, 1911 in Adrian to Cicero & Catherine (Butler) Shaw. She was a 1930 graduate of Adrian High School.  She married Max R. Shelton in Adrian in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1986.  Surviving are 2 sons: William R. Keith E. Huck Sr., 80, of Howell, died Tuesday July 15, 2008.  He was born May 3, 1928 in.  He was a 1945 graduate of Fowlerville High School and serviced in the US Army Air Corp. Richard A. Outwater , 75,of  Fowlerville. Died July 18, 2008in Howell.  He was born July 16, 1933 in Conway Township to Garrett & Mary (Schwohl) Outwater.  He was a 1953 graduate of Fowlerville High School and  an operating engineer for Parson’s Construction, a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a veteran of the US Army.  Surviving are 2 children: Mary Sholty of Fowlerville and Micheal Outwater of Lansing, 4 step-children: Bunny Lockwood, Timothey (Marian) Lockwood, Danny Lockwood all of Fowlerville and Jeffrey (Barb) Lockwood of Howell, former wife: Nancy Currier, 14 Grandchildren,and 10 Greatgrandchildren He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 4 sisters.  Services will be 11AM Monday at the Niblack Funeral Home, Dillingham Liverance Chapel with Fr. Nona Fyrciak, age 74, of Fowlerville, passed away on July 8, 2008 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born April 4, 1934 in Detroit to Dimetri & Helen I. (Farkash) Shirak.  She married George Fyciak Jr. on Sept. 4, 1955 in Detroit.  She was a 4-H leader and liked to knit and crochet.
Surviving are: Husband: George ,3 Children: George Richard , Dawn    M.  Fyrciak and Hope H. Fyrciak, grandson: Jacob Fyrciak-Lincoln,    and her twin sister: Nadia Bakan of Illinois.  She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: William Shirak and Mitchell Shirak.  The memorial service will be held at the family farm, 6945 Owosso Rd., Fowlerville on Sunday July 20 from 1-4PM with Rev. George G. Mitchell Jr., 69, of Fowlerville, died Tuesday July 8, 2008. He was born August 19, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to George Sr. and Eileen (Dempsey) Mitchell . Eva M. Cheney , formerly of Fowlerville and Round Lake in Mecosta, died June 18, 2008. She was born July 16, 1922 in Fenton to Harmon & Muriel (McAlister) Straugh. She married Elwood C. Cheney on May 8, 1939, he preceded her in death in 1998. Francis Xavier “Frank” Brower, age 85, of Fowlerville, Mich.,formerly of Kelliher, Minn., died Wed. June 11. 2008.   He was born Sept. 21, 1922 in Doster, Michigan to David & Rose (Shinevar) Brower and married Loita Jones in Escanaba in 1948, she preceded him in death in 1997.  He retired from United Airlines and was a veteran of the US Army in WWII, receiving a Purple Heart and an Oak Leaf Cluster. He was an active member of the V.F.W., American Legion, DAV and NRA .  Surviving are 3 sons: David of Reston, Va, Gary of Kelliher, Minn and Randy of California, 8 Grandchildren, 2 Greatgrandchildren, brother: Hank  and 7 sisters:Vera Liechti, Neva Paye  Marion Hannifan , Carol Perkins, Rosemary Elliott , Joann Perkins and Katherine Lucas  and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Loita and Granddaughter: Christa. Elizabeth T. “Betty” Roycraft, 88, of Fowlerville, died Monday June 9, 2008.  She was born June 11, 1919.  She married Duane Roycraft Sr. on Jan. 23, 1942 and he preceded her in death Sept. 27, 2000. Margaret Theriault, 81, of Fowlerville, died Tuesday May 27, 2008. She was born January 4, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Elizabeth (Stephen) Hislop .  She married William R. Theriault on June 10 , 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2001. She was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She loved her kids and grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.   Surviving are 6 children:Mary (Donald) Burkett of Houghton Lake, Cheryl Forester of Webberville, William Jr. (Annie) of Webberville, Robert of Webberville, Dawn (Bill) Bradfield of Brighton ,Albert of Fowlerville, 22 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren, Brother: Steve Hislop of Redford. William H. Tinsley, 55, of Fowlerville, died Sat. May 24, 2008.  He was born Oct 26, 1952 in Howell to James E. Tinsley and Mona (Hissong). Sylvia R. Howison, age76, of Howell, died on May 26, 2008 at her home . She was born October 27, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Alton and Grace (Rogers) Gothard. She married Harold W. Howison on July 11, 1952 , he preceded her in death on October 3, 1999 . She graduated from Redford High School and the from Grace Nursing School. She was an active member of the Fowlerville 1st United Methodist Church. She raised and trained Bernese Mountain Dogs and Dalmatians. She was certified as a AKC Judge, Active and Charter member of Bernese Mt Dogs of America,Heart of Michigan (Life Member) and The Dalmatian Club of Detroit both Life and Charter member.  Surviving are her 2 children: Charles (Judith) of Gregory and Mary Howison of Howell. 3 Grandchildren: Peter, Scott and Victoria.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday May 28 6-8 PM and Thursday, May 29, times 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

Philip Paananen, 62, of Fowlerville , died May 19, 2008. He was born Dec. 22, 1945 to Arnold Yalmer and Vieno Amanda (Kyrola) Paananen in Hancock, Michigan. He graduated from Houghton High School in 1965 and from Lansing Community College.  On September 11, 1971, Phil married Nancy L. (Kautto) in Chassell,Michigan. Phil was a member of the Hancock Naval Reserve for four years and served two years of active duty during the Vietnam War as an Yeoman Seaman at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida and as an Aviation Ordinance Airman at Singly Point in the Philippines. Phil worked 35 years  as a Machine operator for International Paper Company in Howell. He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Fowlerville.  His hobbies included deer hunting and walleye fishing, was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour Westerns. Surviving are his wife: Nancy , 2 sisters: Lois Berg of Chassell and Nancy (Ken) Florence of Hillsboro, Ohio,   2 Brothers: Robert (Judy) Paananen of Winneconne, Wisconsin and Paul (Chris) Paananen of Chassell. Mother-in-law: Gladys Kautto, of Chassell.  2 brothers-in-law: Edwin (Debbie) Kautto of Chassell and William(Karen) Kautto of L’Anse, Michigan. Phil was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and God children. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Peter Paananen.
Visitation : Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Niblack Funeral Home , with services Friday May 23 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Schroeder presiding. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Anna Lucille Clark, age 97, of Fowlerville, died peacfully with her family at her bedside on May 19, 2008. She was born August 4, 1910 in Fowlerville to Rollin S. & Blanche E. (Huck) Horton. She graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1927 and married Dr. Charles J. Clark on May 31, 1936, he preceded her in death in 1965. She was a tremendous mother, loved knitting afghans and loved her kids,grandkids & Great-Grandkids. Lucille was a great fan of the Detroit Pistons.  Surviving are her 3 children: Jerry Clark of Fowlerville, Ronald (Penny) Clark of Wyoming and Linda (Jim) Almashy of Brighton. 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Mr. Verl E. Ferris ,84, of Webberville, died May 13,2008.  He was born Aug. 26, 1923 in Muir, Mich. to Roy & Irene Ferris.  He served in the US Army and worked for General Motors, retiring in 1983.  He was a member of Place of Refuge Church. Verl married Joyce (Sharp) in DeWitt in 1967, she survives.  He is also survived by 3 step-children: James Breslin of Gregory, Carolyn Murray of Arkansas and Debby Johnson of  Fowlerville, 7 stepgrandchildren and 11 stepgreatgrandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 2 sisters.  Services will be held  1PM Friday  at Niblack Funeral Home, Dillingham Liverance Chapel with Pastor Robert Storey of Place of Refuge officiating.  Interment in Greenwood Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to Place of Refuge Church.
